The interest in creating this project was to evoke the opposing forces of beauty and darkness — the idea of immersing survivors in their global flood environment through a graceful and energetic fusion of floating architecture. The project has the appearance of an enchanting water cube emerging from billowing cloudy landscapes to inundate location by hot air blimp. The Water Capsule is a simple shape constructed from highly engineered, shimmery white fiberglass-reinforced panels.
The structure folds into a sequence of seats illuminated by two skylights and a window to the sea below. The overall organization of the project follows the drift of its bend shape, floating based on experience through the freedom of providing air and water to the imagination from losing them. Project designer, Jay Stotenger, was born in 1975 in New York, USA, but currently lives and works in Kuwait. He received his degree in architecture from the USA and is a Senior Architect for the progressive office in Kuwait. Projects he develops the urban density of the address population, and proposes capsule living alternatives that allow him to escape from the reality of his professional practice. Often his projects go dramatically — measured with vibrant colors and minimal details, fabulous scenes of the natural world and their inhabitants become an idyllic way of living.
