Expanded clay

Granules placed in ovens hold no more than 45 minutes.

Expanded clay is an excellent product with good thermal conductivity (retains up to 75% heat). Often, expanded clay is used for the manufacture of expanded clay concrete blocks, by adding the same expanded clay to the concrete.

Varieties of expanded clay

Expanded clay sand is used as an aggregate for concretes and mortars with grain size from 0.14 to 5 mm. Also used for thermal insulation with a backfill layer thickness of up to 5 cm.

Expanded clay gravel is used to add to concrete to improve heat transfer characteristics, for insulation of floors, roofs, walls in the form of backfill. Expanded clay gravel has grain fractions from 5 to 40 mm, they are practically not susceptible to fire and water.

Expanded clay crushed stone is an aggregate for angular concrete with grain size from 5 to 40 mm. It is made by crushing expanded expanded clay mass of large size.

Peculiarities

As an insulation material, it is advisable to use expanded clay only as backfill, without adding concrete.

Scopes of expanded clay:

— To create roof slopes and heat insulation;

— for the manufacture of expanded clay concrete and subsequent production of expanded clay concrete blocks

— Heat and sound insulation of walls, floors, basements;
