Driver’s medical certificates will be checked against the database

The Metropolitan Commission for Road Safety made a decision to create a unified database of medical certificates issued to drivers. By referring to this database, the inspector will be able to quickly establish the authenticity of all submitted documents. This innovation, first of all, makes life easier for those people who do not live in the place of their registration. Formally, at the moment, certificates should be valid throughout the Russian Federation, but motorists often have problems. Drivers come to replace their driver’s license in the city in which they have a residence permit, and at the same time received a certificate in some other settlement where they actually live. It often happens that people have a residence permit in one region of the Russian Federation, and at the same time live in another. The certificate presented to the traffic police is taken for a check, which can last up to a whole week.
